Thoughts on Trinidad and Tobago Budget...
The thing about it is that the budget affects everyone. So why does the government not consult with the people on the issues relating to the budget before it is taken to parliament? So we are asked to comment on the budget after the fact... Unless we decide to overthrow the system and put in place a system that will be just to all, I don't think there is anything we can say or do that could change what has already been decided. All that is left for us to do is swallow what is being put down our throats and stay silent. It’s all a big ‘pappy-show’...

Pakistan Vows to Annihilate the Taliban?
Rehman Malik Pakistan’s interior minister vows to annihilate the Taliban. He said in an interview "If we were to achieve the prosperity for our people and the democracy that BB (Benazir Bhutto) wanted for us, we had to create a terrorist-free Pakistan. We had to rid ourselves of the 'Kalashnikov culture' that was imposed on us when the Soviet Union invaded Afghanistan and which saw a growth in the number of Islamic Madrassas from 300 at that time (in 2001) to 20,000 when we took over the government. We had to bring about law and order and establish the government's writ right across the country. We had to put the fear of God into the militants and make sure that the government's writ reigned everywhere. We had to use force. There was no alternative to bullets."
My question to Rehman Malik is since when it is what Benazir Bhutto wants for the people and not what Allah wants? And since when it is the establishment of the government’s writ rather than the establishment of Allah law? It is clear that Allah is not on the side of Rehman Malik but rather on the side of the Taliban. Rehman Malik will be humiliated in this world and the life after.
