Regarding the release and promotion of the American Film 'Innocence of Muslims'

Waajihatul Islaamiyyah (The Islamic Front) condemns with scorn the release and promotion of the American based film entitled 'Innocence of the Muslims', as it seeks to demoralize the Prophet Muhammad (Peace and Blessing be upon him) and his Ummah and to deflate the efforts of the Muslims in bringing about a culture of peace and lawfulness within our communities.

We are warning that the American Embassy in Port of Spain is under threat and is calling on the Government of this Twin Island State to publicly condemn in the strongest terms the release and promotion of this film. We also call on this PP Government to call on the American Consulate in Port Of Spain - Ms. Walters to publicly apologize to the Muslims of this Twin Island State and to the rest of the Muslim World. This; so as to change the perception and what generally concerns the Muslims.

What Is There To Celebrate?

Eid is a day of celebration… The question is what is there to celebrate?

How can one celebrate Eid when the Muslims of the 21st century hear that there has been an earthquake in Indonesia, Pakistan or a Tsunami along the borders of Asia but do not feel pained? When they hear of such atrocities or sufferings happening to their beloved Muslim brothers across the world there is no shared grief or significant compassion? Why is it that today when we hear that our Muslim brothers and sisters around the world are being tortured mercilessly, their land and possessions destroyed/occupied; their children are being killed/enslaved in poverty and human rights are being annihilated, that we feel no pain? Why do we allow our Muslim brothers and sisters to languish away in prison awaiting trial? Have we no care for them? Why do we waste so much food when we see images of our Muslim brothers and sisters and their children starving to death? Have we no conscience? 

While we are living and enjoying the comforts and luxuries of the 21st century, our brothers and sisters are being oppressed all around us. It has become such that we have become immune to hearing such afflictions. It has become such that we find it hard to shed even one tear.

My dear Muslims, whoever you are and wherever you are, have we forgotten the Hadith of Rasullullah(S)?

Rasullullah(S) giving an example of Muslim unity is reported to have said in a Hadith:

“The Muslim Ummah is like one body. If the eye is in pain then the whole body is in pain and if the head is in pain then the whole body is in pain”

So we the Muslim Ummah, whatever color, nationality or gender, wherever we are, are like this body. If we hear that any part of this Ummah is being oppressed, then we should feel this pain.

My dear Muslims, our oppressed brothers and sisters are crying out for help. They find that the Muslims of the 21st century are asleep and there is no one to help them. The reason why we the Muslims are collapsing is because we do not have any love amongst us. We harbor hatred for one another and our worldly matters and materialistic pursuits have taken over our lives.

 My eyes are filled with the horror of the images of mayhem and slaughter of my Muslim brothers and sisters all over the world; My heart is filled with the sorrow, pain and loss of my Muslim brothers and sisters in Palestine; I go into shock every time I think of my Starving brothers and sisters in Somalia; My limbs becomes weak on account of the genocide of the Muslim race; my fingers are tired of writing for my sisters who are being stripped of their dignity across the globe; my feet are swollen standing in solidarity with them; I tremble with fear when I think of my Muslim brothers and sisters in prison; I cry for the Mujahideen and the sacrifice and struggles they endure. How can I celebrate when all this is happening to me? I am in pain, I am in sorrow, I am suffering… There is no way I can celebrate… Sorry…

A Wake Up Call To The Ummah!

Until then, Allah says: 'Verily, Allah will never change the condition of a people until they change what is within themselves.' [Ar-Ra'd, 13:11] 

While thousands of Muslims are killed all over the world, and while tens of thousands are imprisoned and tortured for calling to the path of Allah and for enjoining the good and forbidding the evil, most Muslims remain remarkably silent and have no worry except for the material things of life. Their hearts have been filled with the love of this life and the forgetfulness of the Hereafter.



Allah says in the Qur'an: "You will indeed find them, of all people, most greedy of life, even more than those who do not believe in Resurrection. Each one of them wishes he could be given a life of a thousand years. But the grant of such life will not save him even a little from due punishment. For Allah sees well all that they do." (Al Baqarah, 2:96)


Many Muslims today have become so much attached to their life that their desire is to dwell among their family, house, money and commerce. They have forgotten that matters of the Hereafter should come before matters of this life and that we must strive to follow the orders of Allah, not just those we find easy and convenient to follow.

Some Muslims today claim that it is better to perform extra prayers and extra fasting rather than enjoin the good and forbid the evil or defend the lives of weak Muslims. Such people would even blame the Muslims who strive to perform these obligations.


This is what Ibn al-Qayyim had to say about such people: ''The Shaitan has misled most people by beautifying for them the performance of certain voluntary acts of worship such as voluntary prayers and voluntary fasting while neglecting other obligatory acts of worship such as enjoining the good and eradicating the evil, to the extent that they do not even make the intention of performing them whenever they are able to.


Such people are considered by the scholars to be on the bottom of the scale of religion: For the essence of our religion is to perform what Allah ordered us to do. The one who does not perform his obligations is actually worse than the one who performs sins.


Anyone having some knowledge about the revelation of Allah, the guidance of the Prophet, sallallahu alayhe wa sallam, and the life of the companions would conclude that those who are pointed at today as the most pious people are in fact the least pious.


Indeed, what kind of piety is there in a person who witnesses Allah's sanctities being violated, his religion abandoned, the Sunnah of His Messenger shunned, and yet remains still with a cold heart and a shut mouth' Such a person is like a dumb Shaitan! In the same way the one who talks falsehood is a speaking Shaitan.


Isn't the misfortune of Islam due only to those who whenever their life and food are secure, would not care about what happens to the religion? The best among them would offer a sorry face. But if they were challenged in one of the things their heart is attached to like their money, they would spare no efforts to get it back.


These people, besides deserving the anger of Allah, are afflicted with the greatest calamity without even knowing it: They have a dead heart. Indeed the more alive a person's heart is, the stronger its anger for the sake of Allah and the more complete his support to Islam and Muslims."
