Eid Message and Greetings.

Assalaamu 'Alaiykum; Peace and Guidance, Greetings;

All praise is for Allaah, Lord of all the Worlds, who ordered us to follow His Messenger (sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) and to call to His Way, and may Allah send praises and blessings of peace upon our Prophet Muhammad (sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam), and upon his family, his Companions, and those who truly follow them until the Day of Judgment.

We implore Allah, the Most High, to make this Eid a moment of joy for everyone. May this Eid bring peace and prosperity to all.

Indeed, Eid is the day of blessings and great reward by Almighty Allah for good observance of virtuous deeds, fasting and Salaah, thus we need to express our gratitude to Allah, Who has enabled us to observe virtues, deeds, and at the same time, granted us Abundant provisions during this holy month.

Waajihatul Islaamiyyah ( The Islamic Front ) sees Eid as a day of joy, cooperation, solidarity and brotherhood. However this does not represent the actions of some members of our Muslim community. These members are head strong on diminishing the relevance of Islam and Muslims in this country. In particular Muslim aid organisations on account of their policy - A policy that does not represent the way of our beloved Prophet (sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) - don't render assistance to the much needy cases that come to them:

A single mother whose child is sick often times and because of where she lives would have to wheelbarrow her child a distance of one and 3/4 mile out off a dirt road in order to get a taxi to take her child to the health-center, was refused the assistance she desperately needed to repair an old vehicle which she owned or help her with a down-payment on a vehicle, this from an organisation that always boast of their ability to assist others over seas.

A father's son who is in danger of being killed in another county and is seeking asylum here was refused financial help to purchase his son's travel ticket by many who was approached on the issue, while they continue to enjoy life, comforted with the fact that their children are safe and taken care off.

Many cases of women and single mothers are left to fend for themselves because their husbands were given frame cases by the police and placed on approval bail - a difficult bail - costing nothing less than $20,000.00 which does not include attorney fees. One can only imagine the pain and hardship of these sisters.

Women in abusive and oppressive relationships are not treated with the urgency required to bring their husbands to account.

The neglect and plight of Muslim prisoners continues unabated Abu Dawud mentions the hadith narrated by Abu Talha Al-Ansari and Jabir Bin Abdullah, that the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) said, “No man forsakes a Muslim when his rights are being violated or his honour is being belittled except that Allah will forsake him at a place in which he would love to have His help. And no man helps a Muslim at a time when his honour is being belittled or his rights violated except that Allah will help him at a place in which he loves to have His help”

Contrary to Islamic teachings a popular Muslim TV host would go on air and Boasts of his wealth and achievements, back-bite and slander other Muslims, brag about his charity, all the while acting in the most shameful and despicable manner.

Muslim men and women, living lives not in keeping with traditions of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) and so by their actions bring shame and disgrace to this most powerful and beautiful religion. Criminals, gangsters, gang affiliation, drugs, dismissiveness, unlawful killing, unruly behavior, abusive and offensive language, lying, back-biting, slander, homosexuality, religious intolerance, partisanship, all, has no place in Islam. This is the behavior of ourselves and our state of affairs and we wonder why we are in the predicament we are in today. How can we expect to be victorious when our sins are the same as the unbelievers?

Never the less, Eid ul Fitr is a time to think of others as well as repenting for past sins and looking to the future. Eid ul Fitr Is the Eid of giving, and joy, may Allah bless us with the same in, all circles of life, and help all among us, who are helpless, worried and waiting for His mercy. May Allah accept our good deeds, Forgive our transgressions and ease, the suffering of all peoples around the globe. Aameen.

Waajihatul Islaamiyyah (The Islamic Front) will like to laud the recent rehabilitative and reformative efforts of the Prisons Commissioner Gerard Wilson.

However, with the advent of Ramadan; a month of Fasting for Muslims worldwide and the culmination of that month with Eid Ul Fitr celebrations, it begs the question; Would this new Prisons Commissioner make the same mistake of his predecessor to search Muslims cells during Ramadan, destroy and deface their Religious book the Qur’an, deny Muslim inmates diet before the break of dawn and at sunset to start and end their fast? Would this new Prisons Commissioner, deny Muslim inmates well cooked food to eat on the day of Eid ul Fitr, in spite of some of them being deemed “high risked”?

Would this new Prisons commissioner deny such basic Religious practices to Muslim inmates as his predecessor did? Would this new Prisons Commissioner deny Muslim inmates a lecture or sermon on the day of Eid ul Fitr? A privilege the Christians, Baptists and Hindus benefit from on their auspicious occasions.

It’s the hope and fervent belief of the Waajihatul Islaamiyyah (The Islamic Front) that this new Prisons Commissioner seemingly a fair and just public servant will allow Muslims their just due during Ramadan and Eid ul Fitr. And that he will correct the wrongs of his predecessor, make things right and act fairly and professional in the performance of his duties, not only to Muslim inmates but all inmates on auspicious religious occasions.

In conclusion Waajihatul Islaamiyyah (The Islamic Front) looks forward to many more positive initiatives coming out from within the nations prisons under this new Prisons Commissioner that will better address the issues of gang violence and crime within the society and further reformative measures aimed at rehabilitating inmates into sound minded individuals once they leave the prison.

Assalaamu 'Alaiykum;

All praise is for Allaah, Lord of all the Worlds, the Caretaker of the righteous and the Humiliator of the wicked, who judged that the final victory will be for those who fear Allah who ordered us to follow His Messenger (sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) and to call to His Way, and may Allaah send praises and blessings of peace upon our Prophet Muhammad (sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam), and upon his family, his Companions, and those who truly follow them until the Day of Judgement.

We implore Allaah, the Most High, to make this Eid a moment of blessing for everyone. May this Eid bring peace and prosperity globally. We ask for mercy and guidance for our Islamic Ummah, its scholars, leaders, and its Mujahideen. We thank Allah for the grace He has bestowed upon us. We ask Allah to recover for us our lost rights, secure from the subjugation of the oppressors, demanding pride, dignity, splendor, and freedom from every authority except that of the Creator, the Exalted and Highest. Our Eid today has double glad tidings: the glad tidings of Eid ul-Fitr and the glad tidings of dignity and victory. This Ummah, which is the best Ummah selected for humanity, enjoins good, forbids evil, and believes in Allah.

We extend greetings to our five heroic nationals who are still locked up in Venezuela. They have shown endurance in patience, sacrifice and courage. They were optimistic that they would pray Eid prayers in Trinidad but instead were given the blessing of being able to give life to Islam and Ramadhan there! So, all praise and gratitude be to Allah.

We specifically offer our gratitude to our government for its boldness and initiative, who were foremost in this goodness. Through them, Allah rejuvenated the hopes of these nationals and their families and love ones, mobilizing to liberate them from entrapment and to defeat the efforts of an unjust system.

We remind our Government and the citizens of this twin island state of the tremendous grace of Allah Almighty, for the many challenges and how many difficult situations we face and the success and peace we enjoy. So it is obligatory to thank Allah for His grace with words and deeds and the greatest way of thanking Allah is that He be worshipped alone, with no partner. Part of His worship is to seek to empower His Shariah, raise His word, ally the people who obey Him, and shun every law placed by someone who flees from His worship and who vies with Him in His authority. Complete freedom, pride, and dignity can only be achieved by rising above every dominion, submitting to the authority of Allah, the Exalted and Highest. Thank Allah through your deeds, as Allah the Almighty said: “Work ye, sons of David, with thanks! But few of My servants are grateful!”

The Almighty said:

“(They are) those who, if We establish them in the land, establish regular prayer and give regular charity, enjoin the right and forbid wrong: with Allah rests the end (and decision) of (all) affairs.”

May the blessings of Allah fill our life with happiness and open all the doors of success now and always. May Allah always guide us all throughout our journey in life. We wish this Ramadan will infuse us with courage that will help us be triumphant over the adversities of life. Aameen..

What Is There To Celebrate?

Eid is a day of celebration… The question is what is there to celebrate?

How can one celebrate Eid when the Muslims of the 21st century hear that there has been an earthquake in Indonesia, Pakistan or a Tsunami along the borders of Asia but do not feel pained? When they hear of such atrocities or sufferings happening to their beloved Muslim brothers across the world there is no shared grief or significant compassion? Why is it that today when we hear that our Muslim brothers and sisters around the world are being tortured mercilessly, their land and possessions destroyed/occupied; their children are being killed/enslaved in poverty and human rights are being annihilated, that we feel no pain? Why do we allow our Muslim brothers and sisters to languish away in prison awaiting trial? Have we no care for them? Why do we waste so much food when we see images of our Muslim brothers and sisters and their children starving to death? Have we no conscience? 

While we are living and enjoying the comforts and luxuries of the 21st century, our brothers and sisters are being oppressed all around us. It has become such that we have become immune to hearing such afflictions. It has become such that we find it hard to shed even one tear.

My dear Muslims, whoever you are and wherever you are, have we forgotten the Hadith of Rasullullah(S)?

Rasullullah(S) giving an example of Muslim unity is reported to have said in a Hadith:

“The Muslim Ummah is like one body. If the eye is in pain then the whole body is in pain and if the head is in pain then the whole body is in pain”

So we the Muslim Ummah, whatever color, nationality or gender, wherever we are, are like this body. If we hear that any part of this Ummah is being oppressed, then we should feel this pain.

My dear Muslims, our oppressed brothers and sisters are crying out for help. They find that the Muslims of the 21st century are asleep and there is no one to help them. The reason why we the Muslims are collapsing is because we do not have any love amongst us. We harbor hatred for one another and our worldly matters and materialistic pursuits have taken over our lives.

 My eyes are filled with the horror of the images of mayhem and slaughter of my Muslim brothers and sisters all over the world; My heart is filled with the sorrow, pain and loss of my Muslim brothers and sisters in Palestine; I go into shock every time I think of my Starving brothers and sisters in Somalia; My limbs becomes weak on account of the genocide of the Muslim race; my fingers are tired of writing for my sisters who are being stripped of their dignity across the globe; my feet are swollen standing in solidarity with them; I tremble with fear when I think of my Muslim brothers and sisters in prison; I cry for the Mujahideen and the sacrifice and struggles they endure. How can I celebrate when all this is happening to me? I am in pain, I am in sorrow, I am suffering… There is no way I can celebrate… Sorry…

ASSALAAMU ‘ALAIYKUM AND RAMADAAN MUBAARAK!

The following calculation are for the Caribbean Islands of Trinidad and Tobago:

RAMADAAN 1430 A.H.
First Night: Night of Friday 21st August, 2009
First Day: Day of Saturday 22nd August, 2009
I'tikaaf begins: Insha Allah Before sunset of Thursday 10th September, 2009

SHA'BAAN 1430 (AH) - Last MonthThe Month of Sha'baan completed 29 days since the moon to commence the month of Ramadaan was confirmed as being sighted locally and regionally after the sunset of the 29th day.

SHAWWAAL 1430 (AH) - EID-UL-FITR - Next Month Insha-Allah.
The 29th of Ramadaan is Saturday 19th September, 2009 Insha-Allah.
Sighting should be done after sunset of this day Insha-Allah.
The new moon (crescent) will be born on Friday 18th September, 2009 at 2:18 pm Insha-Allah.
Sunset on Saturday 19th September, 2009 will be at 6:07 pm Insha-Allah.
At sunset of this day, the moon will be about 27 hours 53 minutes old and Muslims are reminded to look for the crescent to commence the month of Shawwaal 1430 AH Insha-Allah.
If the moon is sighted then Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated on Sunday 20th September, 2009 Insha-Allah.
If the moon is not sighted then Ramadaan would complete 30 days and Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated on Monday 21st September, 2009 Insha-Allah.
