Media Release: The Attorney General, Faris Al-Rawi’s Response to the “Terrorist Attack in Manhattan.”

Media Release:

Re: The Attorney General, Faris Al-Rawi’s Response to the “Terrorist Attack in Manhattan.”

Waajihatul Islaamiyyah (The Islamic Front) is having serious issues with the timing and sentiments expressed in media release dated 31st October 2017, by the AG in responding to what is being dubbed as the terrorist attack in Manhattan during similar and even more gruesome and heartless attacks on innocent Civilians by the rogue nations like America, Israel, Britain, Russia and Myanmar (Burma) to name a few. Waajihatul Islaamiyyah (The Islamic Front) does not condone nor encourage any such action on civilians. This dreadful and senseless attack in Manhattan on the innocents deserves nothing less than the strongest condemnation and the stiffest of penalties but that does not absolve the right of any individual more so a government Minister or Ministers from recognizing other such tragedies like those dastardly and cowardly act perpetrated on civilians by the very governments that cry out in the face of such evil. The Muslim community of Trinidad and Tobago and the Attorney General Faris Al-Rawi came from the same household and even though we have all followed different paths our father Ibrahim (AS) taught us and inspired us to stand by what we believe is right. Not only did he question the illogical practices of his fellowmen, knowing that his was the voice of reason, he actively made attempts to guide his people towards the right path. And above all, when he was met with hatred and rejection by the people, he never lost confidence in the truth. Prophet Ibrahim (AS) had confidence and faith. He knew his beliefs were backed by reason, and so he had nothing to fear. This is the legacy of our father and this is the legacy we were bound to follow.

Waajihatul Islaamiyyah (The Islamic Front) is questioning why since assuming office in 2015 our brother; the Attorney General Faris Al-Rawi never condemned those attacks on innocent’s civilians perpetrated by those nations, named? From 2015 to October 2017, 35,084 civilians a quarter of which are women and children, have been killed in Syria. Of the civilians killed in 2016 alone, 2,574 were children under the age of 18 and a further 1,944 were women. Presently; 2017 Death Count stands at 7,203. The United States has killed nearly 30 Muslims for every American lost.

Where is the press release condemning the ethnic cleansing in Myanmar where killings, torture, rape and arson is being reported daily?

Where is the press release condemning the US airstrikes on the Syrian village of Manbij 19th July 2016, killing 117 including 35 children and 20 women.

Where is the press release condemning the 4 million innocent civilians the United States and their allies have killed during their so called “War on Terror?

Where is the press release condemning the air strikes on five medical buildings and two schools in Aleppo and Idlib 15th February 2016?

Where is the press release condemning Israel’s aggression and illegal occupation and the blatant disregard of the many UN resolutions and America’s support of it?

Mainstream media has also failed to acknowledge that the Islamic State groups' alleged attacks like the one in Manhattan could ultimately be blamed on Washington, because the extremist group was created by them, according to a recent Global Research study.

“Much like al-Qaida, the Islamic State is made-in-the-USA, an instrument of terror designed to divide and conquer the oil-rich Middle East and to counter Iran’s growing influence in the region,” the Center for Research on Globalization wrote.

They continued, “Just like many U.S. interventions into the sovereignty of other countries, Washington's foreign policy in the Middle East has backfired.”

They went on to write that, “the fact that the United States has a long and torrid history of backing terrorist groups will surprise only those who watch the news and ignore history.”

A prominent English journalist put it quite simply. “If the United States wants to improve its image in the Islamic world,” he said, “it should stop killing Muslims.”

Considering all this Waajihatul Islaamiyyah (The Islamic Front) is calling their brother; the Attorney General Faris Al-Rawi and the government to condemn all such attacks, especially if perpetrated by the nation that boast of being the flag bearer of democracy. Do this and you would not appear to be unjust and hypocritical.

A Fallacious Tale of Hypocrisy, Semantics and Propaganda

A Fallacious Tale of Hypocrisy,
Semantics and Propaganda
By: Umar Abdullah
Date: October 4, 2017

The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) found the international coalition forces, led by the US, Under the TRUMP administration, killed 260 civilians, including 70 children and 34 women when a school and market was bombed in Mosul in March of this year, 2017. In this same month, reports of civilian deaths from US air strikes across Syria and Iraq soared to an all-time high, according to AIRWARS, a British monitoring group, which found there were 1,472 casualties linked to US air strikes in March.

The deadliest mass shooting in US history:  A 72-minute killing spree that left 59 dead and over five hundred injured in Las Vegas in what can only be described as an unlawful, Horrific and evil, systematic use of violence and intimidation, against the American people was an act of Terrorism. This was an attempt to create terror and fear. We are seeing from this tragic episode the photos of those killed and stories of their lives told, but where were the photos of those high soaring numbers of dead women and children uncovered in Syria and Iraq?

The author and perpetrator of this dastardly act; Stephen Paddock a multimillionaire who had recently wired $100,000 to the Philippines, where his girlfriend Marilou Danley and her family lived, was found dead with an arsenal of weapons, enough to fill 10 large suitcases, with more than ten rifles, 23 guns, including a Kalashnikov and AR-15 assault rifles, a vast and a stockpile of military grade .223 calibre ammunition.  Another arms cache including 19 weapons, several pounds of a commercially available explosive, and thousands of rounds of ammunition was found at his home in Mesquite, 80 miles northeast of Las Vegas. They found traces of ammonium nitrate fertilizer, which can be used to make homemade bombs, in his car.

Despite all this Donald Trump calls this an “act of pure evil” - how can anyone be more fallacious than that? A mere couple days ago when a Somali refugee; Abdulahi Hasan Sharif, armed with a knife and a flag, ran down four pedestrians and struck and injured four others, everyone was quick to call it a terrorist attack.

Reports are now claiming, The Islamic State terror group claimed Paddock converted to Islam a few months ago, reports say, they said the attack, was carried out by a “soldier” of the caliphate and was done “in response to calls to target coalition countries.” In another statement released hours later, ISIS referred to Paddock as Abu Abd al-Barr al-Amriki and said he answered a call to arms by its leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi.

Well I guess we all know where this baseless propaganda is going to lead us. Yes! right back to where we started, meaning, if Stephen Paddock is a white American Christian, his crime will be labeled as an "act of pure evil" But if is name now becomes, Abu Abd al-Barr al-Amriki, his crime will be labeled as an "act of terrorism".

The Apartheid State of Israel – Should We Remain Silent?

The Apartheid State of Israel – Should We Remain Silent?

As a people we understand the key functions of the Attorney General and the government as it relates to National Security and adhering to international laws and agreements. However, there seems to be the need to remind these entities of another role and function, i.e. to condemn in the strongest possible terms the atrocities and the anti-democratic practices perpetrated against the world innocents in countries such as Palestine, Yemen, Syria, Burma, Kashmir, Iraq, Afghanistan, Somalia, Sudan and most importantly Palestine. The latter is of paramount importance, as Israel is now being accused of having established "an apartheid regime.

This according to a UN report on Israeli Practices towards the Palestinian People and the Question of Apartheid. This report was commissioned and published by the UN Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia. The publication comes amid renewed debate about whether, through its settlement policy and rejection of Palestinian self-determination, the Israeli government is creating - or even has already created - a de facto "one-state".

The report continues on to give a "detailed analysis of Israeli legislation, policies and practices" that highlights how Israel "operates an apartheid regime", including through "demographic engineering".

It urges governments to "support boycott, divestment and sanctions activities and respond positively to calls for such initiatives".

As well as urging governments to back BDS, the report recommends that the UN and its member states should "revive the Special Committee against Apartheid, and the United Nations Centre against Apartheid (1976-1991)", which would then "report authoritatively on Israeli practices and policies relating to the crime of apartheid".

David Keane, associate professor in law at Middlesex University, said the new report differs from previous ones on the subject because it "expressly attaches the apartheid label".

Following mounting pressure from Secretary-General Antonio Guterres to withdraw the landmark report, Rima Khalaf the head of the Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) which published the report has resigned. She was reported to have said "I will not conceal a clear crime, and I stand by all the conclusions of the report".
In light of this, the AG, the Foreign Minister and the Prime Minister should collectively condemn Israel and America for their non-compliance to International law and should they support boycotts, divestments and sanctions against Israel’s activities.
Over 400 resolutions were brought against Israel and America vetoed more than 75 percent. America continues to fund Israel $3.15 billion every year - more than what they give in aid to the whole of Africa.
The conflicts throughout the Middle East and the rise of Islamophobia throughout the world has its seat in the Israeli/Palestinian conflict. If our government refuses to publicly condemn Israel and America for what is now being labelled as “Apartheid” - institutionalized racial segregation and discrimination - Should we continue to have an objective view of the government in so far as it relates their policies on religion and human rights?

Wouldn’t this silence indicate our government’s real policy position as regards the sanctity of religion and the promotor of human rights? Or should we just remain silent as well?

Response to Government Ministers

Media Release:

Re: Response to government ministers.

Waajihatul Islaamiyyah (The Islamic Front) takes no pleasure in criticising government ministers as this embarrasses our ministers and by extension our country and its people. It is however necessary especially in times like these where the rights and privileges of our countrymen are being stripped away and the citizens looked down upon as fools and rotten souls.

First of all I would like to call upon the Minister of National Security to immediately tender his resignation for his comments and uttering a blatant lie on Saturday last while addressing  a march against crime in Terchier Village, Point Fortin, Minister Dillon told Newsday that it was his view that a very small group of Muslims who have not conformed to the faith of Islam and have erred. Dillon said, “There is a small minority of Muslims who have gone against their faith of Islam and that is what the leaders have said. We cannot put everyone in the same bucket. So, we reach out to those who believe they are true to their faith. The Muslim groups wanted to see me. I did not plan the meeting; I met with those who wanted to see me, so the Muslim body came together.”

These comments were very unfortunate as not only the Minister was being untruthful but has insulted the Muslim Community, pre-judged us and labelled us hypocrites.

According to an article in the Guardian Newspaper entitled "Help us Find Them" dated Saturday 11th February 2016; The meeting was planned, the ministry issued a statement and the American Embassy was involved.

At this juncture Dillion's resignation would be considered an apology. He has acted with incompetence and as soiled an important design woven in the fabric of this country. He continues to follow the dictates of America by chasing a ghost and Turn a blind eye to the reality of crime and the decay of our society.

We are also calling on the Attorney General to immediately tender his resignation for his role in the controversial marriage act and the proposed Amendment Bill to the Terrorism act. The manner in which the marriage act was passed and his proposed course as it relates to the amendment to the Terrorism act has shaken the very foundation of our Religious doctrines. He sorts to unfairly place the Muslims and the government of this country on an unfriendly path which would eventually compromise his role and purpose.

And last we again call on the honourable Prime Minister to immediately advise the President to revoke the appointment of the Foreign Minister. Dennis Moses' deafening silence on matters affecting Muslims globally has paved the way for the spread of islamophobia here in this country and should be held to account for allowing the spread of this scourge by not condemning the senseless slaughter and atrocities against our Muslims brothers and sisters overseas.

Media Release: Re: Behaviour of Our State Agencies

Re: Behaviour of Our State Agencies
Waajihatul Islaamiyyah (The Islamic Front) is calling on the government of Trinidad and Tobago to put a leash on its agencies and their members when it comes to treating with the issues of its people, especially when matters are of a sensitive nature.
Just yesterday Police Officers of the Besson Street Police Station raided and desecrated Masjid ul Furqaan of John-John Lavantille and the Imam; Atiba Seargant (Abdul Haqq) was arrested and charged in what appears to be a case of religious persecution and sacrilegious. Recently he was detained and questioned at length regarding what measures he has taken to curb crime in his community. (See Photos Attached of Masjid After Police Left)
Just a couple days ago January 11th Police armed with guns and wearing bulletproof vests barged into the office of Sacha Singh; managing director of Amsure Trinidad and Tobago Ltd and demanded money by menace; treating to arrest if the worker did not comply. Since when can the TTPS assume the role of the Labour Board and a Magistrate or Judge?
The 182 names which are now under the radar who according to the FIU have engaged in suspicious transactions and are funding terrorism abroad and as a result of which Inshan Ishmael is now been investigated for raising funds for the same purpose.
The interfering of religious laws by increasing the marital age to 18 years. I must warn if this legislation is passed in the upper and lower house and made law there is going to be a negative spiral effect.
The refusal to allow the re-entry of our eight nationals mostly woman and children who have been detained in Turkey since the end of last year even though it has been expressed by the Turkish government their willingness to repatriate our citizens.
Must I remind this government we are a democracy and not a dictating police state. People have rights and privileges in this country as enshrined in our Constitution. The only reason why people don’t fight back is because they are poor and have no money to pay the exorbitant fees some lawyers charge. If the government and its state agencies continue to function with this megalomaniac type behaviour our democracy would pay a heavy price.

Media Release Re: Suspected Trinidad and Tobago nationals involved in terrorism

Media Release:

Re: Suspected Trinidad and Tobago nationals whom the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) have said to be involved in terrorism and who are suspected of financing terrorism.

Waajihatul Islaamiyyah (The Islamic Front) holds a different view from that of the present Trinidad and Tobago government administration as regards the 182 suspected nationals whom the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) have said to be involved in terrorism and in particular the 69 who are suspected of financing terrorism. This as it was revealed by Minister in the Office of the Prime Minister and the Office of the Attorney General Stuart Young now raises the question of this government’s motives and how are they going to treat with this information. It appears as though this present administration is allowing itself to be drawn into a war with its own citizen much to their own disadvantage and at the expense and peril of the ordinary man on the streets. Why is the Trinidad and Tobago government allowing other countries to define who we are as a people, why are they allowing other countries to define our laws? What we have existing here in this country is an anti-Reggae hip pop gangster culture mentality and common criminals.

If this present Trinidad and Tobago government under the stewardship of the Honourable Dr Keith Rowley wants to talk terrorism; we must first level the playing field. Let us start by calling those who define us by their rightful names.

Malaysia, March of 2015 Ottawa’s Prof Michel Chossudovsky speaking at the international conference the “New World Order” - A Recipe for War or Peace! Said the so-called war on terror is a front to profligate American global hegemony and create a new world order. He said terrorism is made in the US and that terrorism is not the product of the Muslim world. According to him the US global war on terrorism was used to enact anti-terrorism laws that demonize Muslims in the Western world and to create Islamophobia. Elaborating on his arguments Prof Chossudovsky said that NATO was responsible for recruiting members of the Islamic states.

September 2004 the United Nations secretary general, Kofi Annan, declared explicitly that the US-led war on Iraq was illegal. Mr Annan said that the invasion was not sanctioned by the UN Security Council or in accordance with the UN's founding charter. In an interview with the BBC World Service broadcast, he was asked outright if the war was illegal. He replied: "Yes, if you wish." He then added unequivocally: "I have indicated it was not in conformity with the UN charter. From our point of view and from the charter's point of view it was illegal."

This being the case what then was it? Was it an act of terrorism? and if it was why then was PFC Le Ron Wilson, who was killed in that illegal war honored by attaching his name to Marli Street, Port of Spain, in his memory? The new street sign now reads “PFC Le Ron A. Wilson Way”. According to Trinidad and Tobago government Wouldn’t PFC Le Ron Wilson be classified a terrorist? His name should be removed.

Muslims have been taught by the Quran and their beloved Prophet (Peace Be upon him) to help and assist their brothers and sisters in oppressive situations. America have campaigned and vowed to remove the Assad Regime in Syria; claiming it to be an oppressive dictatorship. Muslims who have gone and is continuing to go and those who have sent aid to those in need are indeed fighting against and supporting the removal of the Assad regime. Wouldn’t this then be considered an act of goodwill and support? So then why the fuss?

The Israeli army which I like to refer to as one of the most; one of the best-trained, best-equipped best-fed Terrorist organizations in the world; yes they have nice generals and have nice uniforms but their entire purpose is terrorism; I’m just referring to one example: Just about 8 years ago Israel began its attack on Gaza September 27, 2008 11:25 in the morning, what has been referred to as the most shameful day in the history of the Jewish people. Israel began carpet bombing Gaza and on the first day of the attack they dropped 100 tons of bombs. A 1 ton bomb will decimate an entire city block. Gaza is one of the most densely populated places in the world, 800,000 children live in Gaza; 11:25am is exactly the time when the morning school shift and the afternoon school shift changes so all the kids are in the streets and that was the moment decided by the decision-makers in Israel to begin the attack. It was the first day of the 21 day slaughter that had absolutely no justification. If that’s not terrorism I don’t know what is. Israel receives about $3 billion in direct foreign assistance each year from America, which is roughly one-fifth of America's entire foreign aid budget. In per capita terms, the United States gives each Israeli a direct subsidy worth about $500 per year and further to this the United States has finalized a $38 billion package of military aid for Israel over the next 10 years. From these accounts it can be deduced that America is funding terrorism.

It’s about time the duly elected government of Trinidad and Tobago starts calling America and Israel by their rightful names and begin doing their homework and investigate properly information coming to them from America. They need to start standing up and protect its citizens and speak out on global issues that affect its people. Muslims groups who have established themselves and is operating within the Twin Island State of Trinidad and Tobago will be damned to remain silent and allow others to interfere with there religious rights and freedom; in a country where every creed and race should find and equal place.
